Over the years, we’ve immersed ourselves in the waters of hundreds of Japanese spas, gotten lots of massages, eaten all varieties of Japanese delicacies, drunk the best sake, explored futuristic urban environments, and seen more of the incredibly varied beauty of the countryside than most native Japanese!
To share the fruits of all this research, we’ve formed a tour company, Ten Thousand Waves Travel. It’s designed for the traveler who doesn’t normally do tours, but is hesitant to visit Japan due to the unfamiliar language, signs, and culture. Groups are limited to 20 or less, and the focus is on hot water, great food, and adventures not usually available to the Western tourist.
This year we will be going on a tour of Kyoto/Kyushu from November 5-18. The tour will focus on Western Japan, an area unaffected by the recent events in the North. Sign up for our newsletter for updates. Details of the fall 2011 trip can be seen here.
